why fear death?

Death is the only liberating truth about life without which we remain confined to limbo- with no future course of action or opinions. This is far more scary than death. When the curtain is drawn we know the show is over and with all our bundle of emotions we accept it.It is quite challenging to have positive attitude towards death and that relieves us of the pain or fear of death. We are product of our script writer where we have to perform our role without being judgemental. It also teaches us total detachment from all what surrounds us because once we know how we are placed on this earth where we ought to be only witness. But our ego compels us to cross all defined limits and we keep suffering it's consequences which includes pain and pleasure hence equanimity is the only way to survive. The very thought of death teaches us more about life than life itself.

what we can live without

Human tendency is to acquire anything which adds to his sense of possession.Overcoming our ego has always been challenging in a sense it characterizes the human race in comparison to other beings. It is our misfortune that we behave like ostrich which has led us to suffer with our self created affluenzs. Our affluence is displayed in multiple ways be it the concrete jungle all around at the cost of shrinking space and ecological balance. We have no sense of shame in trespassing the rights of other living beings including birds, bees, and our natural surroundings punctuated with the presence of mountains, rivers and trees. Our greed has resulted in most inhuman exploitation of natural resources.Nonr can reverse the global warming, unseaonal rains and the melting of ice in polar region. And with all our affluence, peace is eluding us.Only if we pause and ponder we will realise that we need very little to survive in most dignified manner. The question is can we minimise our wants and go for needs only to set a healthy precedent?

I am personified milestone almost every passing vehicle on highways by passes me,I am happy to help in my own limited way without using words. It is said that man is the measure of all things but the role which I play in yet another measure which is road to destiny for all who paas by my stone.I am in most remote part of the road because I am in the middle of a very thick forest.I am all weather proof.so I enjoy dust, dry leaves, rain drops falling on me.Being stone I have not experienced the bulk of human emotions, feelings etc. It’s a blessing for me but I know the human world is all made up of its tragedies, comedies, pains and pleasures. My only suggestion is that be steadfast in life as I am in all weathers. The more refined word is to have “equanimity in all circumstances “,I am by virtue of my being stone or part of nature, you have to practice to be at peace.

Revisiting Rousseau who believed in innate goodness of human being. His famous words reveal his faith in man where he said “Man is born free but he gets enchained with the passage of time and circumstances which are inevitable and unavoidable”.I wish Rousseau is reborn to witness the plight of humans despite the varied kinds of institutions like state and forms of governments.Rousseau was optimistic beyond all possible limits to determine or define freedom. The way freedom has been abused is a poor reflection on human nature which has been the main premise of leading philosophers to design a better world for humans. Here I tend to agree with Thomas Hobbes who said “the life of man is nasty, brutish and short as long as he lives in his self created state of nature”.His distrust in goodness of human nature has stood the test of time.As humans we have failed almost all predictions made by political philosophers. The question which is a matter of concern is whether human nature has come to its nadir?

I have been wondering what is that one thing which has given meaning, relevance, and purpose to human life. While civilisation, culture have evolved wth the passage of time but even that would not have been there in the form historical record. In my opinion "words"have played a crucial role in the life of humans. The only way humans can express themselves is through words because they are facilitator which provide medium to all kinds human emotions. An unexpressible human is like a block of stone. If we look at the evolution of humans into what and where they Stand as sn accomplished master of their field.it is through words.Yet there is a negative side to words when they are intentionally abused to harm or hurt someone. The future of words is linked with human life.

Erosion of democracy.

The irony of democratic system is that when it starts eroding in a somewhat invisible way,it keeps the illusion as a reality simply with the help of its apparent processes which includes election on a regular basis and the formation of elected government. We take pride for being world's largest democracy where we demonstrate that appearances can be deceptive and yet the system thrives without being questioned, challenged or even doubted.Indian democracy has succeeded by conspiring in a subtle way with the increasing number of vested interest-call them corporate sector or industrialists lobby which is hand in glove with the ruling elites. Those who are in the know of the game government is playing -they are in minority despite being educated elites and committed section of the media.Almost every one is kept in good humour hence the erosion is invisible. The most unfortunate fact is that it is the government which decides who is undemocratic and why hence our survival instinct rests almost like silence of the lamb.
